This exciting award competition initiated by the H&M Foundation, seeks to challenge innovators to offer ideas for creating new approaches for making fashion circular, thereby helping protect our planet.
This means “thinking outside the trunk“ and reinventing the entire industry in the way that garments are designed, manufactured, shipped, purchased, worn and recycled. What’s unique is that this competition is the first such initiative in the fashion industry, and is open to any individual, institution, organization or social business – because you never know whose mind is formulating the next Big Idea!
An expert panel will select five winners to share the grant of €1,000,000. These forward-thinking innovators will then gain access to a one-year accelerator provided by the H&M Foundation, Accenture and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

Proudly launched in Vancouver BC, this non-profit fashion extravaganza is presenting its 11th edition next spring in Seattle, WA. This organization seeks to promote innovative alternatives and solutions for a more responsible and sustainable fashion industry.
Hundreds of stylists and designers from around the world have participated over the years to shine attention on the need for progressive ways to stem the pollution and waste from the world’s 2nd worst planet-damaging industry- FASHION!
(Did you know…? American manufacturers alone, are responsible for 15.1 million tons of textile waste per year…!)
You can make a difference by learning to incorporate ingredients for an “Eco-Recipe” which any brand can create by adding their own values, beliefs and resources to establish more sustainable practices.

TWO MAJOR APPAREL TRENDS FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2017
These days, the word “trend” has morphed into a verb, as people everywhere are obsessed with all things “trending.” Be it celebrity news, politics or better yet, fashion – we all crave what’s hot.
Here are two significant apparel trends that are sweeping down the runways:
It’s back to the future, as designers reach for future inspiration from eras long past. Poet sleeves, ruffles, satin and velvet are recurring fabric choices. Intricate bodices, embellishments and attention to detail evoke just the right balance between past and future.
Off the other edge of the style spectrum is the the trend toward structured modern silhouettes – boxy shoulders and cinched waists that assert feminine strength. Playful asymmetrical lines add movement and attitude.
