If there’s one thing we love more than posting cute pictures on Instagram it’s looking at cute pictures on Instagram!
We’ve stopped counting the hours we spend in a black hole of fashion and textile Instagram accounts. One inevitably leads to another, and then another, and then another until it’s 5 in the morning and we’re still double tapping on vintage dresses from the 1950s.
We’re sure this happens to all of you, but in case it doesn’t, we’re sharing 5 of our favourite accounts to start you off with!
Here’s our current list of Instagram Obsessions:
The fashion and textile museum of London uses their Instagram account to post pictures from their current exhibits as well as random inspiration. We love to see the old labels on some of the garments. Fascinating stuff!
Here we can see a variety of different garments from different Dutch museums, as well as fashion photography inspiration. They consistently post interesting stuff!
The fashion and textile pieces from England’s Bowes Museum are curated especially for you on their delightful Instagram account. It’s almost as good as seeing them in person!
Philadelphia’s Drexel University’s historic teaching collection of garments can be viewed here. Their pieces come from all over the world and can be really inspiring when developing a project!
The costume museum of Canada in Winnipeg uses their Instagram account to post pictures of specific details from their extensive collection. They’ve only recently joined Instagram, but we’re excited for what’s to come!
And then of course, no list on Instagram follows would be complete without OURS!
What are your favourite fashion and textile Instagram accounts? Please share with us, we’re always looking for new things to follow!
