Initially, when fast-fashion companies started creating children’s clothing that was exact replicas of adult clothing, a la H&M, we were all into it. We thought it was super cute and the thought of dressing our kids to look like mini adults was fun and exciting.
After a few years of this however, we’ve grown sick of seeing kids in black t-shirts and we long for the days of children’s clothing being cute and age appropriate.
Lo and behold, a new children’s print trend comes along that makes us fall head over heels for kids clothing again!
Potato prints are back!
Remember this activity? Cutting shapes into potatoes, dipping them into paint and repeatedly pasting the shapes onto paper. This crafty childhood activity has re-emerged as a print trend and we couldn’t be more excited!
Obviously, brands are recreating the potato look as actual prints, but you can totally do this at home with basic garments and fun paint colours!
We love that the possibilities of shapes are endless and that it always ends up looking very cute and children appropriate. Regardless of if they’re actual DIY‘s or prints, they have a did it yourself quality that we find very appealing.
Is this something you would try doing at home? Or prefer buying in a store? Do you think your kids would enjoy these kinds of prints? Let us know!
