As you know, here at Télio we peruse the fashion week runways extensively, looking for any specific trends that come back from show to show. We then report on our findings on this very blog!
The most omnipresent trend for Spring 2016 has to be cutouts. We saw various garments with cutouts at a dozen different fashion houses. From Gabriele Colangelo, Fendi, Jil Sander, DSquared2 to Versace, Emporio Armani and Costume National.
From dresses and shirts to jackets and pants, cutouts were everywhere. Personally, we feel they’re easier to pull off on jackets and blazers rather than dresses and pants, but that’s just us.
Cutouts are a fun way to transform a simple garment into something a little more daring and edgy. It’s also very easy to transform a piece you have in your closet into one featuring cutouts.
As you can see, cutouts are featured on everything from evening looks to more casual fare and bohemian attire. It’s a trend that easily crosses over all styles of dress. The create the illusion of a new dimension to the garment and they foreshadow a certain sensuality in the wearer.
Are you daring enough to sport cutouts for Spring 2016?
Luckily for us, cutouts can be designed for any type fabric. Whether it’s knits, wovens, silks, cottons, cutouts don’t discriminate!
