We can’t remember the last time we fell so hard for a designer’s collection.
Dries Van Noten‘s Spring/Summer 2016 womenswear collection is absolute perfection. Everything about the show is amazing.
First, the colours! More importantly, the mix of colours! The beautiful teal, the mustard, the purple, the hot pink, the orange, the blues, the watermelon, the coral, the gold, etc. They’re all such rich, vibrant hues. One can’t help but smile while watching it all unfold.
The textiles used are so varied and beautiful we don’t even know where to start. The amazing raised jacquards, the satin ruffles, the exquisite brocades, the embellished tweeds, the pleated, tiered tulle and the prints, the PRINTS! All of it is just so overwhelming. We couldn’t get enough!
The juxtaposition of it all is what makes it all come together perfectly.
The collection feels both inspired by the 1940s and the 1990s at the same time. Two decades that involved similar shapes and lines, but very different styles, coming together to create something great.
In an interview, Noten is quoted as saying about the collection that it features a woman who ”wants to live, to show herself, to enjoy life, she knows how to mix things and dares to”. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. We want to be that woman, we want to have the audacity to wear all of these looks!
Adding another dimension to the beauty, a live quartet was playing during the show. Could it have been more perfect?
Did we mention the gloves?
OK, enough about the show, we know what you’re thinking. Does Télio have anything fabric in these amazing colours? Yes, of course we do! Here’s a sample:
Are you as in love with this collection as we are? Is it more the clothes, the colours, or the whole package? Let us know!
