Last night was the 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. It was a great night for women, for HBO and for fashion!
The always elegant and supremely talented Viola Davis made history by becoming the first African American woman to win an Emmy in the lead actress category for a dramatic series for her work on How to Get Away with Murder. Her speech was extremely moving, she even quoted Harriet Tubman. You can watch her speech here.
Jon Hamm won his first ever Emmy for his work on Mad Men, long overdue if you ask us.
HBO’s megahit Game of Thrones and the hilarious Veep won for best dramatic series and best comedy series respectively.
Our deception at the lack of amazing fashion at the MTV VMA‘s was forgotten and forgiven after the amazing looks we saw last night! Everyone looked amazing, except Heidi Klum, it was very hard to pick our five favourites. We had to leave Claire Danes, Jamie Lee Curtis, Teyonah Parris, Elisabeth Moss, Aubrey Plaza, Jessica Paré, Sofia Vergara and Judith Light on the sidelines but it doesn’t mean we didn’t absolutely love their looks!
Here is our Top 5 Best Dressed:
05. Jaimie Alexander
This amazing Giorgio Armani Privé gown is giving us all of the colours and we’re blown away.
04. Zoe Kazan
We absolutely love this cute Miu Miu number. The red and white stripes give this dress a fun and youthful flair.
03. Ellie Kemper
We love this 1970s inspired Naeem Khan dress. It could have look really severe but Kemper’s smile complete the look perfectly.
02. Kerry Washington
This Marc Jacobs dress was on the runway 3 days before the Emmy’s, at New York Fashion Week and we can’t think of a better choice for the beautiful Washington.
01. Sarah Paulson
This is perhaps our favourite Sarah Paulson look of all time. So elegant, so old Hollywood, so bold, we can’t believe how good this custom Prabal Gurung dress looks on her. Stunning!
