We’ve been waiting for this trend to come back for a while! Long floor length/ankle length coats are back in style.

They’re the absolute epitome of elegance, femininity and sophistication. That being said, floor length coats aren’t the most practical thing on the market. Which is why we believe most designers offer an ankle length option as well, for those of us that don’t necessarily like cleaning the sidewalk while going to work.

We’re seeing them in all different sizes and shapes. Short sleeves, long sleeves, no sleeves, anything goes. Whether it’s a canvas trench coat, a sleeveless wool pastel piece or a belted flowy silk number, the options available to you are seemingly endless!

Here are some examples of people wearing the trend out on the street. What’s fun about these coats and this trend is that you can kind of wear them over anything, no matter the fabric, construction or length of your coat, you can mix it up. They’ll add originality to your outfit.

One celebrity we’ve seen wear this trend a lot recently is the First Lady of reality television, Kim Kardashian West. She likes hers to be very light and airy in colours that complement her outfit. Again, we’re not sure how practical these are if you run after a 2 year-old all day like Kim, but they sure look gorgeous!
