The curiously unaging Jennifer Lopez turns 46 today (but she doesn’t look a day over 25)! We decided to celebrate by researching long and hard through all her red carpet fashions and picking our top 5 favourite looks.
Lopez has an amazing body and she sure likes to show it off, her style is always sexy and revealing. She’s the queen of the plunging neckline, but it’s ok, she knows what looks good on her and she works it. We don’t blame her, we would do the same. That being said, she still manages to surprise us, once in a while.
Here is our Top 5:
05. MTV VMA’s (2006)
Jennifer is wearing a Biba dress and skull cap with Versace boots. This is a very simple and unmemorable look, but we absolutely love the colour on her and the choice of wearing a matching skull cap. It feels edgy and fresh, even though a skull cap is nothing revolutionary. People gasped when she hit the red carpet.
04. Grammy Awards (2000)
Probably the most famous dress she ever wore (or will ever wear), the infamous tropical Versace print with the career-defining neckline (should we even call it a neckline?) This look is not really something we would wear, but we had to include it for its place in fashion history. This is the dress that turned Jennifer Lopez into a superstar.
03. Golden Globes (2009)
This gold Marchesa number fits her perfectly and it has all the elements that Lopez loves; a plunging neckline, an eye-catching colour, and a form-fitting bottom half. The fact that she wore this at the ”Golden” Globes feels very appropriate. Her slicked back hair also gives the dress all the attention it deserves. It was a wow moment on the red carpet.
02. Costume Institute Gala (2011)
Lopez went classy and timeless with this flowy red Gucci dress. The floral accents on the shoulders add a romantic, delicate touch that takes this look from just a beautiful dress to an absolute talking point. The plump red lip is the accessory that sexes it up like only Jennifer Lopez can.
01. Academy Awards (2012)
When Jennifer met Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad, there must have been sparks and fireworks exploding in the background. Murad has been by far Lopez’ favourite designer as the past years. She wears his dresses constantly, it feels like he is her number one choice, all the time. Our favourite Murad dress that she’s ever worn is this form-fitting striped number she wore at the 2012 Academy Awards. It fits her like a tailored glove and it has that nude illusion that Jennifer loves so much. We’ve never seen her look this good!
