It’s been said over and over and now there’s even a TV show named after the saying. Orange Is the New Black!
We’re not necessarily sure about that statement. We wouldn’t go as far as that. We’re thinking more along the lines of Orange being the new Pink? Or the more gender neutral version of pink. It’s true that pink has come a long way and caters to all genders, but when it comes to neutrality, you can’t get better than orange.
Orange can signify different things depending on your culture, in Asia, orange is symbolic with Hinduism and Buddhism. In America, it is simply symbolic with a good time! An excited colour, a popping breath of fresh air and it’s associated with one of our favourite holidays: Halloween!
Not a lot of people are daring enough to incorporate orange in their wardrobes. It takes guts. We find that when you include a dash of orange in your outfit, be it an accessory, a pair of shoes or even sunglasses, it’ll instantly brighten up not only your outfit, but your entire day! As well as the days of everyone you come in contact with that day. Orange is a powerful colour!
This week we’re particularly interested in the Blaze Orange shade: Pantone’s 021 C. Traditionally used for hunting gear, but very boldly used in commercial garments in recent seasons.
Do you have a special orange piece you like to pull out and accessorize once in a while? Tell us about it!
