November can be enough to get even the cheeriest of people down in the dumps. Fall’s glory days are pretty much behind us, and it’s a tad premature for us to get hyped about the holidays yet (well, for some of us). Personally, every year when November rolls around, all I want to do is live in a big sweater, wrap myself in a fuzzy blanket, and veg on the couch. It’s around this time of the year when I start to regret ever being excited for the crisper fall days and miss the sweet bliss of summertime.
Today I’m dreaming about California, one of my personal favourite destinations. I get a little envious that Californian folks can always get away with wearing lightweight, summer attire, needing but a sweater and light jean jacket on the coldest of days. Because let’s face it, no matter how much you spend on that must-have winter jacket, or those warm yet “stylish” winter boots, nothing beats not having to wear them at all.
Let’s think about nautical prints inspired by the prestigious marinas, lively brights which give those beach houses a run for their money, lightweight eyelets which seem to be meant to be worn over bikini tops, and endless supplies of jean shorts. Or the smell of sun kissed skin, running your hands through warm sand, and flip flops, because I feel like my feet will never see the light of day again.
Hey, we all know the warm weather will come again. And without a doubt, living in a four season climate has its perks too! But for right now, I simply want to reminisce about Cali.
Where would you love to be transported to right about now?
