With Coachella and the Governor’s Ball kicking off the festival season so far, we’ve seen some amazing street style looks that we can get inspired by for the upcoming festival circuit in Canada and Northern US!
Stand out from the crowd (and it’s a big one!) with bright floral and painterly prints! Choose your fabrics wisely – pick something light and airy like TÉLIO’s Kimono Chiffon or Rayon Voile Prints for tops and dresses and cottons like TÉLIO’s Soho Twill or Bloom Sateen for printed shorts and pants. You’ll feel perfectly dressed for the hot summer weather.
Accessories are extremely important when you’re spending your entire day outside in the hot sun!
Key Item #1: Backpack- a small soft backpack is the perfect accessory for all your belongings (water bottle, sunscreen, sweater- it gets cold once the sun goes down!) We love leather backpacks or those with a fun print are a great addition to your outfit.
Key Item #2: Hat- whether it’s a baseball cap or wide brim felt hat, it’s never been more in to wear a hat to protect you from the sun’s rays and ensure you don’t have to make a trip to the medical tent for sun stroke. Wear your hair in a loose pony or low braided chignon so your hat easily fits (and doesn’t give you hat hair).
Key Item #3: Sunglasses – No reason needed here, just wear your favourite pair or your most “out there” pair- anything goes!
Upcoming Festivals – find the one that’s closest to you!
- Osheaga – Aug 1-3: Our native Osheaga taking place on the island getaway of Parc Jean Drapeau in Montreal is Canada’s biggest music festival featuring headliners from musicians including Lorde, Haim and Jack White as well as some awesome smaller acts like Band of Horses and Half Moon Run.
- Lollapalooza – Aug 1-3: If you’re closer to Chicago, head over to Lollapalooza to see some of the same headliners as Osheaga who are doing the festival circuit. Of course there are also many different artists as well, such as Kings of Leon, Iggy Azelea and Jhené Aiko.
- Squamish Valley Music Festival – Aug 8-10: If you’re situated along the west coast, just a quick drive north of Vancouver is the Squamish Valley Music Fest. Set against a beautiful rocky mountain backdrop, this festival has grown greatly in the past few years- featuring some bigger headliners (Bruno Mars is on the docket) amongst a midst of Canadian bands like Arcade Fire and Walk Off the Earth and July Talk.
Do you have any music festival (or other) plans this summer?
