When I think of relaxing, beautiful and romantic, I think of the beach. Sand between your toes, salty air all around, gusts of warm wind in your hair, and if the timing is right, a magical sunset. I cannot think of a better location to get married. Beach weddings allow you to have a more relaxed, laid back ceremony, and if it is a destination wedding it can take away the stress of feeling like you have to invite everyone you know.
The Beach is our Blog Managing Editor, Jessica Pevzner’s favourite wedding location, and I don’t blame her since it allows for some very creative ways to decorate for the reception and ceremony. Sea foam greens, coral pinks, flowy fabrics that blow in the warm breeze, seaweed centerpieces, seashell candle holders and Beechwood benches, canopies and tables can all be used to accentuate the beaches natural beauty. How about this DIY nautical themed gift bag for your guests? Need some sheer fabric to wrap around your ceremonial arbor? Feel free to browse some options available from TÉLIO here.
I think the biggest benefit of having a beach wedding is that the location provides you with the most breathtaking décor, and it ends up being really easy to achieve a beautiful, minimalistic wedding because of it. You don’t want to take away from the beauty of your surroundings, so the items you add should really blend in. Not only that, but if you’re like us and live far from a beach, travelling to an exotic location forces you to be minimalistic. You can’t bring an entire reception with you on the plane, right?
If you were to have a beach wedding, which destination would you choose?
