Iconic palm trees, gradient skylines, poolside scenes… can a print mimic a gentle summer/ocean breeze?
More and more present on the runway, palm trees are making a strong comeback. First seen on the Spring 2013 runway with Osklen, the iconic trees were also spotted in the latest 2014 Resort and Spring/Summer collections from Fausto Puglisi to Kenzo. This trend is being forecasted for Spring 2015, so get ready as palm trees will slowly start popping up everywhere.
My love for palm tree’s developed when I was very young, in the late eighties while my family was living in the dream state of California. My parents were studying abroad and I was discovering the young American Dream. It was the end of the school year and my parents rewarded me with an amazing pair of teal and fuchsia LA.GEAR high-tops. (L.A.Gear flashback) Nothing felt more California than this brand. Their ads showed girls with cropped t-shirts and palm tree prints and since then, I’ve associated, palm tree prints with cool!
So how excited am I to see this trend coming back for Spring Summer’15? Very excited! Check out our first palm tree print for our new collection, I hope it brings you a little bit of warmth on this cold cold day.
