Katelyn and I are so excited to be attending this year’s Blog Podium in Toronto! We are eager to learn new things, meet inspiring bloggers and professionals and come back with great ideas on how to make TEXTURES an even better experience for you, our loyal viewers!
If you don’t know what Blog Podium is check it out here. We will have a post when we come back on our experience so stay tuned for that! Sarah Richardson is the keynote speaker, and I am VERY excited to say the least. A long-time customer of TÉLIO and one of my biggest idols since childhood, Sarah will be sure to have some really great tips for us to bring back and share with you!
In preparation for this conference we wanted to spruce up our regular business cards and add some color to them! We decided to add a bright pink bubble at the top right to promote our blog, and since that wasn’t bright enough for us we did this easy DIY in order to achieve a colorful edge.
Now this is an extremely simple DIY to do, but preparation is key and distance of the spray can to the cards is CRUCIAL! Don’t be too close or you will end up with a puddle of spray paint that will surely seep through your stacked cards. (We know, because we made this mistake – on our test stack don’t worry!)
Here is what you need:
Rock or something heavy that you don’t mind spray painting
A sheet of fabric, or paper to protect the space you will be working in.
Step 1: Set up your space (preferably outside)
Step 2: Stack your cards up as perfectly as possible, making sure that the edges are flush on all sides
Step 3: Place the rock or heavy object on top of the cards
Step 4: Shake the can of spray paint and spray from a good 12 inches away, covering the surface as quickly as possible. Don’t linger in one spot.
Step 5: Wait 5-10 minutes for it to dry and VOILA!
We love the way they turned out!
Have a great weekend, we are excited to share ours with you, see you Monday!
