Last week, I watched the French movie Populaire starring the beautiful Romain Duris, and the amazing Déborah François. The story took place in 1958 in Normandy with the protagonist, Rose Pamphyle who is trained by Louis Échard to become the fastest typist in the world. Populaire is a love letter to the underappreciated Hollywood movies of the 1950s, with a wonderful feeling for the textures of Technicolor. The hairdos and clothes are slightly stylised and is a must see for all the fashion lovers!
